Camera Takes Photos

Sorry I haven't been updating the blog. It's been so hot that I have been spending every free moment floating in my son's kiddie pool and drinking margaritas. But I thought I would post a quick link to a lovely blog that I found. Photographer, Sarah Regnier is brilliant, and her blog is filled with so many photographs from her daily life. If you have the time have a look at Camera Takes Photos.

Shit My Kid Ruined

This hilarious site shows the damage that an unattended child can do in just a few seconds. It will also make the childless want to stay that way.

Candied Orange Slices

This is the project that just wouldn't end. It took four hours to cook three large oranges in a large oval skillet. I think i would have given up in a normal skillet.

I can't wait to serve the candied oranges with chocolate ice cream. But I don't think I will be making them again. It just took too long.

Once Your Parents Were Awesome

I am totally in love with the blog, My Parents Were Awesome. It is simply a site with old pictures of parents and grandparents enjoying their youth. I am trying to convince my mother to submit a photo of her in the seventies with a huge blond afro. It is a cool site to check out if you have a few minutes do something fun.

What's For Dinner

I tried a new recipe last night. This recipe for Cilantro Lime Chicken (I used pork chops instead.) was extemely simple and yummy. Actual prep time was less than 15minutes, even though you need to marinate the meat for eight hours. It is something you could prep the night before and pop in the oven at the end of a busy day.

I forgot to take a picture, but trust me this is a good recipe for busy parents.
Found at Gabriela's Kitchen.

Missed Connections

Sophie Blackall has beautifully illustrated Craigslist's Missed Connections. It is one of my favorite new blogs.
